Bat Trang ceramic village & Van Van studio Bat Trang is famous for its ceramic pottery which is sold throughout Vietnam and increasingly to the overseas markets. Ceramics have been made here for almost 500 years and knowledge has been passed down through the generations. Today the abundance of rich clay and increasing demand has turned the traditional skills into a thriving cottage industry. Coming to the village, visitors can visit ceramics workshops to see local artisans working on every processes of making a ceramic item, and take a try under friendly locals's guidance. Van Van studio is short of a private museum of ceramics, the only of its kind in Vietnam so far. Housed in combined ancient Vietnam Houses, the studio shows hundreds of valuable ceramics works by the local artisans.
